Tournament Rules: All SAY rules will be followed with these exceptions and/or additions:
1. All teams must play with their own players, no picking up players from other teams.
2. U8 are still able to play 4v4 or 5v5 depending on team sizes like during the season. Similar the U10 who are able to play 7v7 or 8v8 like during the season. For all other divisions if less than required players, teams will play short and the opposing team does not have to play down if they choose not to.
3. QUARTER/HALF LENGTHS ARE DIFFERENT THAN REGULAR SEASON.
U8 and U10 = 8-minute quarter
U12 and U15 = 10-minute quarters
U19 will be 20-minute halves
There will be 1 minute between quarters and 5 minutes for halftime. Please follow this to stay on time.
NO COIN TOSS OR CAPTAINS AT START OF GAMES
4. Home team, top of the bracket, will be on the left side of the field facing the spectators. U8 & U10 will switch sides at the half and U12-U19 each quarter.
5. Away team will kick-off 1st & 3rd quarters, home team will kick-off 2nd & 4th quarters
6. In the event of a tie, games will go to a penalty shootout to decide a winner. The procedure for penalty shootout mirror a penalty kick but are listed below.
i. Referee to provide instructions.
ii. The shootout will be done from the same goal (referee to decide) and a coin toss to decide who shoots first and will follow this order (Team A, Team B, Team A, Team B).
iii. If still tied after the 1st shootout (All 5 players have kicked), it goes to another round of penalty kicks but shot for shot. If first player Team A scores and player Team B misses, game is over and Team A would win.
iv. For the U8 shootout it will be 4 versus 4, there will be no goalie, best of 4, and will shoot from penalty mark. Continue similar to part 3 if still tied after 4 kick takers.
v. For U10 and up the shootout will be 5 versus 5 with a goalie, best of 5, with players shooting from penalty mark similar to penalty kick.
vi. No player can shoot a second time until all 5 (4 for u8) have taken their shot
vii. Players selected for shootout need to stand within center circle and non-shootout players and coaches behind mid-field line outside of center circle, with the home team on the left side facing the goal.
viii. Once a shootout team is picked, swapping of shootout player for non-shootout player is not allowed, unless injured during shootout, and then new player takes that injured player's position in order. If a goalie change was made, the original goalie remains on the shootout team unless changed due to injury.
ix. Goalie can be changed, although this must be done prior to the opposing team sending the player to the penalty mark.
7. Any player, coach or spectator receiving a red card or violating the code of conduct will not be allowed to remain at the tournament for the remainder of the day. If a serious violation occurs, the individual receiving the red card may not be allowed to return to the tournament and will be discussed by the board.
8. All games and calls are final. No protests are allowed.
